For all the passion people have for the sea and its inhabitants, and the fact that marine biological research is providing insights into how a substantial portion of our planet works, it appears that until now no English language magazine existed purely for the broad interest of marine biologists. What an opportunity!
Published by the Marine Biological Association, and including articles from across the field of marine biology, the magazine aims to be a lively and authoritative source of information on all aspects of life in the sea. There will be two editions each calendar year and colourful images throughout. Our aim is that The Marine Biologist will appeal to scientists and non-specialists alike.
The Editor, Guy Baker, said: “Directly or indirectly, what happens in the sea affects everyone. The new magazine will give the reader an overview of marine issues and current scientific thinking and how that informs management of our seas.”
Issue 1 is available now to MBA members. Visit the magazine's website and read excerpts from issue 1.
