New report by CPAWS assessing Canadian progress in marine protection released

"Canada falls further behind world leaders in marine protection":

Canada has made limited gains over the past 18 months in protecting our coastal waters, with the federal government and other levels moving at too slow a pace to meet the challenge issued by the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) to protect 12 special marine areas by December 2012.

Rolex Awards for Enterprise 2014


I am writing to encourage you to spread news of the latest call for applications to the Rolex Awards for Enterprise. Rolex Awards are given every two years. In the last round of awards presented in 2012, Rolex gave awards to 5 individuals, three of whom are running species related projects and who applied for the awards through the IUCN Red List website.
